Megan DiMera is the daughter of Stefano DiMera and an unnamed woman. To protect Megan, Stefano hired his henchman, wealthy New Orleans banker Maxwell Hathaway to act as her adopted father. She became known as Megan Hathaway. As Megan Hathaway, she met and fell in love with Bo Brady. However, her mother intervened and broke them up, making each believe it was the other's fault.
In 1984, Megan and Maxwell arrived in Salem, looking for the prisms for Stefano.
